Rockin at Rivertunes! What a great time we had with everyone at Riverscape. We were cancelled last year due to the weather, but this year was fantastic. A big thanks to all of our loyal friends and fans that came out. You guys are the best!! The new year...
Wow, are we stoked!
The new year is bringing us many things. First, and foremost is Tyler, our new fiddler who will join us for a new year of adventures in Pubs, Festivals, and Travels. Tyler, will be taking the place of our good friend, Ric Smith, who is moving on in a different direction in life. We wish Ric all the best, and will share a pint or two everytime we see him. We also have the new site with new features, as well as new songs already brewing with Tyler. We hope you are all ready to ride along with us through another great year. Slainte! You got what?!
Hello Everyone!
Just taking an opportunity to let everyone know what’s up with me. Actually, it has been kind of crazy since our last show at Byrne’s Pub in October. Not long after, the gig, I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. It has all happened very fast. I have undergone the scans, the tests, and the biopsies…even the surgery! I am just now home today from having the bugger completely taken out. It is good to be home in my recliner and watching the Buckeyes. Although I am going to miss the massive doses of morphine they gave me! A shot of morphine and your ipod set on Pink Floyd is AMAZING!! This is actually the first time I have had to get on the computer and get in touch with everyone. To those of you that knew, thank you for all of your kind words and support. And if you are just finding out, I am doing great and all is well. I will have to be out of commission for about 12 weeks, and will have to undergo a bit of radiation treatment the beginning of the year, but the outlook is 100 percent recovery. I look forward to seeing you all soon at the pub for a pint! Rob No rest for the wicked.
The end of the year is a double edged sword. In many ways, it is both exciting and depressing. I won't lie when I say it is nice to have time off from performing. It can be a stressful at times, and it can wear you down. But it never fails that not long into the vacation you get the itch to do what you love...and that is play. Better yet, is playing with people you respect, and totally enjoy rocking out with. But it is necessary to recharge the batteries a bit.
This is the time we can spend with our familes and friends. And...the time of writing and recording new music. We will spend our down time doing just that, and I can't wait. Stay tuned for more Homeland! Rob |
